Sweet Summer Nights...

Had such an amazing time at the Ray Concert.
We got a late start, because I had to work, so we grabbed some Panera (yum!) and walked to White River, stopping at the government building to scarf our food.
White River is such a wonderful venue, there really wasn't a bad seat. They also provided chairs, which I thought was really cool.
And, we couldn't have asked for a better, more beautiful night for a concert.
I was so excited that The Secret Sisters opened for them!
I love them, and they are so wonderful live.
Jamie is not really a fan, but he stuck it out for me.
 hahaha, he loves me.
Then Brandi Carlile came out.
And she. was. awesome
I am totally going to get her CD.
And then the wonderful Ray came out.
He was such a great performer, and incredibly gracious as well.
After the concert we went to Steak and Shake with some of Jamie's friends from work who were also at the concert.
It was an incredibly fun night, and I would love to see him again.

This weekend...

Had a garage sale this weekend.
It was kind of a surprise, all of the sudden, on wednesday, a sign went up for "Community garage sale, this saturday!"
Oh hey, thanks for the notice!

So we threw some stuff together.
We were even hauling stuff out of the attic the day of the sale.
I didn't have high hopes for the sale.
But, I was wrong.
we actually made $50!!!
We are going to use it as mad money, and save it for when we want to do something on a whim.
Which makes me super excited

On a sad note, yesterday, I lost one of my favorite earrings.
and not just lost it.
It quite literally fell out of my ear as I bent over to pick something off of the floor...
and it fell into the toilet.
Yep. Seriously.
I tried to get it (the water was clean)
But it was gone.
way gone.
I am super, super bummed about this.
These were some of my favorites.
I wear them all the time.
Ugh.
Just my luck.

Good news, however, is that we are going to see
Ray Lamontagne
tomorrow night!!
It's going to be an awesome time, even though I have to work the whole morning. (long, complicated work story.)
Looking forward to spending a night with husband, listening to some great music!

Life lately...

Jamie and I took another impromptu trip to Broadripple!
This time it was my idea.
We ate at "La petite chou" for the first time.
Amazing.
It was literally like being back in Paris.
I love it, and can't wait to go back.
I also loved spending the time with my handsome husband.
I needed it.
It's been an adjustment, being married again, as we call it.
We lived like roomates for almost 6 months, only seeing each other coming and going, and it's taken some time to get re-adjusted to being husband and wife.
I'm so glad we have, though.

On another note, I developed this ridiculous rash on my arms the other day.
Itches. Like. Fire.
Not sure what it is yet.
I'm annoyed that this is coming along right as the eczema on my feet is clearing up.
So irritating.

And, I went out to look at the garden today, and
we have corn!!!
And green beans!!
I'm not going to lie, there was a small part of me that was afraid that we would do all this work, and then nothing would come up, and it would be an epic failure.
Which is why I'm so ecstatic that things are growing!

Off to have dinner with my friend Emily!
I love summer.

Impromptu Broadripple Trip!

Husband surprised me with a trip to Broadripple last night.
It was so great
We hung out, ate Qdoba and Red Mango (yum!), walked the Monon a bit, and went into a few little shops.
It's been so nice having him home these past few evenings.
I miss him now that he's back at work.
So excited for this summer, when I can see him more.
I am one paper away, and for better or worse, the semester will be over for me.
Jamie has a week and a 1/2, and then he is done.
I love him.
Can't wait to have an opportunity to show him that more.

Much needed date day with my awesome husband!

Slept until 10 AM.
Then cuddled for an hour.
Haven't done that in since our honeymoon.
Amazing.

Jamie showed me the surprise he got for us!
I'm super excited about using it.

Then we went to the winery and spent our huge honking gift card.
It was awesome, we have a great wine collection now.
Some amazing stuff, we got to try them in a tasting.
Stopped by metropolis.
Got Jamie a new sweater (which I love)
and me some new bras (that I won't be modeling.)

Stopped by Panera for lunch, and had an amazing meal.
Black bean soup and a caesar salad.
Yum.

Then we took a walk around the neighborhood,
and enjoyed the beautiful colors of the trees.
We also collected some fall foliage
(which left a nasty dirt residue in my pocket)
And made an awesome fall table centerpiece.

Then off to dinner at Outback Steakhouse (Jamie's pick)
and had a free dessert coupon.
This is the result of that wonderful thing:
Woah.

And here we are now.
I love him so much.
This day has been exactly what we needed.
We have just been smiling, laughing, hugging, kissing, holding hands, and having an absolute blast
all day.
I love married life.
And I love him.
I refuse to think about going back to the craziness tomorrow.
I'm just going to enjoy being his wife.

Feeling Better.

So, I apologize for the negativity of the last post.
I am feeling much better, though,
and much more positive.
It is still a bit overwhelming, but I can already tell the weekends are going to be my saving grace.

So, random thought, and I will start the following by prefacing that I have no prejudice against tattoos. I think that a person has every right to get one if he or she wants.
But... I wouldn't always choose some of the things people get.
For example:
Tonight at work, a young woman, probably in her late teens/early twenties was leaving, and she was wearing a spaghetti strap tank top, showing her many tattoos.
As she left, I could see that on the back of her neck, she had a giant tattoo that read
"Sin for Sale."
Really?
Explain that one to your kids in 15 years.
Also, on your neck?
Good luck covering that up at funerals, weddings, and job interviews.
I just thought it was nuts.

Jamie and I made a spontaneous trip to Broadripple today.
It was awesome.
We so rarely do anything spontaneous anymore,
and we just drove off.
We had Jimmy Johns and Red Mango (which he loved!) I was pumped about that.
We also went and checked out Three Dog Bakery, so that Jamie could see it.
With our schedules being so crazy, it was so nice to just have time to be with him, and have no plans.
So lovely.

I attempted home-made Spinach Ravioli today.
I have been so excited about it all week.
Here is what the Raviolis looked like partially made:

They were really fun and easy to make, I was super excited at this point. I used fresh spinach and everything!

Here is me making them.
Thank my wonderful husband for the photography, for which he oddly enough volunteered. =)

Here is where things started going downhill:
The recipe called for water and Extra Virgin Olive Oil to cook them in, and I followed the instructions perfectly, and yet they stuck to everything. The pan. Each other.
And I don't know if you've ever tried to pull ravioli off of something, but guess what happens?
It tears open.
I think at least 50% of them were broken open.
Spinach filling was going everywhere.
But, in the end, I got them on the plates, sauced, and they tasted pretty good after all.
So, in the end, A for taste, C- for presentation.

I think I am going to start doing yoga. I did it at one time with my mom and sister, but I just need something to get me going in the mornings, and to wind me down after work.
I think yoga will do that for me.
Now I just have to find a video.
Excited about this.

Well off to bed Church (finally) in the morning with my love!

Happy!

I have had a beautiful week!
Wednesday I had a great time with Misty, we went for a walk in the park and drank iced tea.
It was wonderful.
I meant to take a picture, but forgot.
Then I worked hard on a surprise fondue dessert for Jamie! Fondue is kind of our special date thing, so it was great! And I was really proud of myself for the way it turned out!

Thursday, I had a lovely day, despite having class (which got out an hour early)!
Then Jamie and I went to Rehearsal, ended up having a long, nice chat with Bill and Jacob, and then I had to go to a midnight meeting at work.

Crazy, crazy changes are going on at work.
I don't really know what to expect. I guess I will just stick it out and wait.
It could get wild.

And then I had to open this morning after our midnight meeting. Sweet.

I am so, so, so excited to get to go to the Indian's Game with my family tonight!! Andy and Carie won't get to be there (sad) but my sister and parents will, and I am pumped to get to spend the evening with them. Pictures to come later!

Date Day

Today was the first day that we have BOTH had off from work since we have been back from our honeymoon. We had a pretty average day, but it was awesome because we didn't actually have to do anything.
Sweet.

Started our day today with a new smoothie, and it was Awesome.
Jamie even liked it, and said it was the best one I had ever made. (I used Orange Juice instead of Soy Milk, which is why he liked it so much.)
We ran errands, and worked on school stuff, and hung out, and laid around and it was
Glorious.

We then used the Olive Garden Gift Card we got at our wedding (thank you Whitney) and went and had a fabulous dinner, followed by a lovely trip to Goodwill. =)

We finished the evening off with a piece of the cherry pie that I made today, which tasted Fabulous.
It was a great day.
I need more date nights with my husband. haha
but seriously, I can't wait to have another day to spend on him and him alone.
