If you're wondering if I want you to...I want you to!

Can't help but love this Weezer song.
Been listening to it all day.
This is the first time since FRIDAY morning that i haven't been working, at school, doing homework, or sleeping.
My life is crazy!

Jamie and I spent this past weekend in Rockville with his brother's youth group at a youth retreat.
It was a lot of fun, the only lame thing was that i took the wrong day off of work, and I had to leave at midnight, and drive an hour and a half. I got there at 1:40 AM. It sucked.
But, other than that it was a blast, and on a gorgeous property! The kids were really great,  I am so bummed that i didn't think to take pictures.

Monday was my first official day of Assistant Manager training!
It went well, but it was a lot.
I did my first interview, and I think I did a pretty good job!
I was really nervous, though.

Friday my wonderful husband took me to Teavana after his class!

I got a new black tea, and it is amazing.

Peach-Cran Tango!

It's delicious, and I love it.

I also got a new Yoga video!
I am really excited about it, and so far the routines have been really great!
It has routines for morning to energize, and evening to relax.

Minnie has been quite a character this week.
Jamie accidentally left the linen closet open overnight, and when I got up the next morning, this is where I found her!
Such a silly girl I love her!

I have a busy weekend ahead of me!

Tonight:
Howl at the Moon with Emily (and maybe Amanda!)
This is my favorite bar in the world, if you have never been to one, go!

Tomorrow:
Work all morning, and then
Trampled by Turtles in concert at Birdy's!!
Going with Amanda (and maybe Emily!)
So excited that they are in Indy!

And Saturday:
Family Reunion and then

Andy McKee and Eric Johnson in concert!
My husband is super excited about this one!

And, dinner with my parents on Sunday after work!

It's going to be crazy, but at least it will be crazy and something that I enjoy!

Well, hopefully I will be able to post again sometime before next year.

Lonely

Been feeling a little lonely lately.

Trying to combat it by staying positive.

Not working too well.

One friend lives in Florida.
One friend is moving to Chicago.
One friend won't talk to me because she doesn't like my advice.
Whatever.

Been very thankful for my IUPUI friends lately.
They are pretty much the only social interaction I have throughout the whole week.

I also miss my husband a lot.
He is amazing, and I barely see him.

Off to work now.
Going to try and dig myself out of this funk.
Wish me luck.

New Ok Go Video!

I have been a fan of Ok Go since WAY before they were super popular.
They have mainly become famous for their awesome music videos.
However, I also love them for their music, which I think is fabulous!
Anyway, their newest video came out yesterday, and I love it!

I think it is very creative, and awesome!

If you are unfamiliar with them, here are some of their prior amazing videos, one of which they won a grammy for!
I hope you enjoy!

(sadly, I cannot embed this one, you will have to go there, but it's my favorite!)

I would love to have their new CD!!
I already have their first one, and it's great!

For the record, that makes three CD's that I currently want:
Ok Go- "Of the Blue Colour of the Sky"
Ray Lamontagne- "God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise"
Trampled By Turtles- "Palomino"

I need to start saving up. =)

Awesome weekend...and then...not.

Awesome weekend....

This has been Jamie and I's first weekend off where we could just be together around home since our wedding.
It's been amazing.
I got my hair cut some more Friday morning,
and i love it!
It's got much more character now.
(sorry it's blurry, but you get the point.)

Jamie and I hung out during the day, and then went to Bradley and Maranatha's wedding rehearsal.
Bradley is Jamie's cousin, and we sang the music during the party processional.
Then we came home, and just hung out, ate popcorn, and watched a movie, which we haven't done in months.
It was wonderful.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early and drove back to Rockville for a soundcheck and the real deal!
Other than the pianist being 15 minutes late,
it went great!
Then we went to the reception with the family,
and it was a good time.
Jamie mostly hung with his brother Shawn,
and I stayed with my sister-in-law Tami.
After the wedding, Jamie and I drove home, changed, and then headed straight to Broadripple to hang out with Joe and Amanda!
It was so great, Amanda is in my block at school, so it is great to get to hang out with her, and her fiance Joe is a sweetheart, and Jamie and I both really like him as well.
Amanda and I had an awesome time,
while the boys watched football.

It was also so nice to just have an evening with my husband, hanging out with friends.
we don't do that enough.
I love him.

.....and not.

Around 11:30, Jamie asked if we could leave because he didn't feel well. I had to get up and open the store this morning, so we hadn't planned on staying late anyway, but it was earlier than planned.

We got home around 12:30 AM, and he looked more and more sick every minute.

Around 1AM he got up and got sick.
Really, really sick.
Trying to be a good wife, I got up as well, and got him some water.
And then it happened again at 3AM.
This time we made him a sick bed on the couch.
And then again at 5AM. He woke me up even in the hall bathroom.
And then again at 7AM.
At this point I gave up on sleep, especially since I had to be at work at 8AM.
So, I made a 7AM run to Kroger to get him 7-up, saltines, chicken noodle soup, and lysol wipes for me.
And then, after 3 hours of crappy sleep, I went to work for 8 hours.
And this is where my husband has been for the last 14 hours.
Poor Guy.
He is definitely finally starting to feel better though, which is a blessing.
I have to get up and do homework and housework all day tomorrow.
Definitely taking a nap.
Right....now.

Happy Music.

Off to an 8 hour school day followed by a 6 hour work shift.
I thought I would share this, though.
A friend from class posted it, and I am in love.
Oh my goodness, I love it!
I will have their CD.
Good start to my day, lets just pray that it continues.

A little on the awful side.

Well Hello.
This is my 4-day-straight migraine face.
I don't know if you can see them well, but the half closed swollen eye-lids kind of give it away.
And, this....
is my to-do list, minus two.
It's going to be a rough one. A really, really rough one.

But, overall, I had a fairly good weekend (other than the migraine.)
Jamie and I spent saturday morning at the Penrod Art Fair, which is one of my absolute favorite things to do.
As you can see...
We got a little wet.
We also took home a lovely little toothpick holder (Jamie's pick,) and it is sitting next to the vase I got at Penrod two years ago.
On a random, strange note, I have severe reactions to bug bites and poison ivy.
Check this beauty out that I have been battling all weekend.

Awesome, yes?
Not.

On a really awesome note, my name has officially, FINALLY changed at work! My name change is at last complete! This is the last step for officially being Mrs. Rutan. I was pumped.
Okay, I am going to go work on homework now, and take some more Tylenol and drink some tea.
Maybe that will help.

I'm excited for Jamie to get home.
I miss him so much.

Thoughts

What's wrong with this picture??

Hahahaha, Emma.
She has apparently decided that it is okay for her to get in Minnie's crate.
I was cracking up.
Minnie didn't even seem to care.
They are so hilarious.

The kitties seem to be going over great, but no offers for homes yet.
I really hope I can help Emily find them some good families.

I'm going to the Penrod with my Husband in the morning.
I'm really excited.
We are thinking about taking Natalie with us.

I often read the blog of notes, I enjoy seeing other well-written blogs.
But...
would give me nightmares if I had them as a child.
They may still now.

However I love
Absolutely Love.

Lastly,
I wish I could dance like this.
This dance is gorgeous and passionate,
and I love it.

Kittens!!

Introducing:
Stephen, Teeny, Nola, Penelope, and Marilyn!!
My friend Emily's Cat had them, and they need a good home.
I went to see them today.
They are absolutely precious!
I DESPERATELY want one. But, Jamie said no.
They are so little!
Marilyn enjoys hanging out in the cereal bowl.
Misty, I am pretty sure you need one. =)
If anyone wants one, please let me know! They are lovely!

Olive Hoover is my hero...

Watching Little Miss Sunshine.
Oh. My. I love this movie.
Even though there are so many inappropriate things that i don't agree with in it.
There are so many awful things, yet in the end it is the very thing they dread that brings them together as a family in a totally unique way that defies societal expectations.
Amazing.

Crazy day.
Wow.
Closed last night, for the fourth night in a row, and didn't get home until 12:30 AM. Then stayed up and worked on one last homework assignment. Until 1 AM. Then, I crawled out of bed at 7AM, and left for school at 7:30 AM.
And while exhausted during class, my teacher has the kindness to tell us that she is postponing the assignment that I stayed up working on until next week. How nice of her.
So I got through the rest of the school day, and then the craziness started.

First off, I had to take Minnie to get her nails trimmed.
Speck's does it for $4 every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month.
But, I've never taken her without Jamie.
And she is Jamie's girl.
She did great up until the 4th paw,
and then she had an EPIC meltdown.
I. mean. EPIC.
It was awful. She was nipping at me and the grooming lady, and was thrashing all over the table.

So, i got her a bone, and a pup cup at Starbucks.
That was three hours ago, and this is where she has been since:
As you can tell by the fact that she refuses to look at me, she hates my guts.
I don't really know what to do about it.
I really missed Jamie during all of this.
She never acts this way with him.
The one positive is, she loves the bone. She won't leave it alone.

Then I went grocery shopping. I was exhausted and really didn't want to go, but had no choice, as we have nothing to eat.
Since Jamie and I are never home, we don't eat nearly as many fixed meals, so I don't have to buy nearly as much food.
So, I used the remainder of my budget to buy awesome healthy snacks.
I got fresh fruit and veggies, some awesome Cliff and Larabars, and some wonderful, amazing, not-so-healthy Hint-O-Mint Newman-O's.
And, they were on sale.
So great.

After I got home, a little girl who was probably 9 or 10 came to my door asking for donations for an event at her school she was participating in.
I couldn't say no.
I am defenseless against children.
So, I gave her $5 of my personal budget.
At first I was irritated, but really, I prefer giving it to a worthy cause than spending it on something that I don't really need.
Makes me feel good about helping her.

So, that leads back to where I am now.
Watching Little Miss Sunshine,
and eating Soy vanilla ice cream with crushed Newman-O's on it, and waiting on my long lost husband to get home.
Wonderful.

Hello, world.

It's been a while.
With a full-time job and full-time school, it's hard to find time for the things I enjoy.
I will be making time, however.
I love and need my "me" time.

Listening to Ray Lamontagne.
I love him.

My sister and her boyfriend just left.
They are in town, so they came over for lunch with me.
Jamie was supposed to be here, but he ended up having to work last minute.
Long story short, he was the only guy who could cover his old position, because the guy's grandma died.
Which I completely understood, and my sis did too.
So, it was just the three of us, and the furry children.
We had Crispy Cracker Chicken, Rice, and Fresh Cooked Carrots.
It was delicious.
We followed it up with some tea.
Yum.

Speaking of furry children, one has been indiferent to Jamie and I starting back to school:
I kind of think she enjoys it, she gets to lounge on the bed more, which doesn't happen when we are home.

This furry child, however:
Has been a holy terror.
She is doing things she never used to do, and doing things that she has been broken of for months.
Like pottying in the house. She peed multiple times on the blanket Jamie's mom made us for our wedding. She hadn't peed in the house in 8 months. She has also been pooping in the house, which we had her completely broken of.
We had been able to leave her out of her crate almost all of the time, and now we have to crate her even if we leave for just a few hours.
She digs in the trash, and gets it everywhere, which she has NEVER done before, and steals my underwear, even the clean ones, and tries to hide them in her cage.
She also nipped at my sister today, which is another completely new thing.
I am at wits end with her.
We still love her, and I feel guilty that she doesn't like us being gone, but there is nothing we can do about it, and she can't keep behaving like this.
Uggh. Children.

It has been a weird week altogether.
These randomly appeared:
Along with a bruise on my neck.
I know I am clumsy, and run into things, but this is ridiculous. And I don't remember where I got any of them.
Weird.
Jamie says I am like a bull in a china shop. He laughs at me when I run into stuff.
But I know he thinks it's cute.
I just wish I didn't bruise so easily.

I recently discovered that I really needed new work/school clothes. We have to dress up when we do field work, and I am quickly running out of clothes. So, my awesome husband took me shopping.
I got all of this:
Plus some Grey dress pants that I forgot to take a picture of.
I love him.
He got a shirt, pair of shoes, and some work pants.
It was a good day.

Jamie and I are singing in his cousin's wedding in two weeks.
Exciting.
We just got the song three days ago.
Not so exciting.
It's "From this moment" by Shania Twain. I am NOT a Shania fan.
But, it's what they want, so I hope we do it well.
We have to learn it first, though.

Well, I work in about an hour, and I have homework to do (that's all i ever do now.)
My life is busy, but great.
